My Celiac Diagnosis:
My interest in digestive and autoimmune nutrition became personal in 2007 when I was diagnosed with Celiac disease after many years of GI upset, bloating, fatigue, and persistent headaches. In hindsight, I had likely been living with Celiac long before I had a name for what was happening in my body. I am also highly sensitive to gluten and must navigate daily eating, restaurants and travel with extreme caution, as even trace exposure can have serious consequences. This experience gives me a strong foundation of empathy and a practical understanding of what it truly means to manage Celiac disease in daily life.
Despite the challenges, Celiac disease has shaped some of the greatest joys in my life. I’ve learned to embrace living gluten-free and love creating gluten-free versions of favorite dishes, baking with alternative grains, and experimenting with homemade fermented foods. Cooking isn't just a necessity for me—it’s a creative outlet, a grounding practice, and one of the ways I stay connected to my own health.
My passion for nutrition also comes from my love of growing and preparing food. I maintain an organic garden in my backyard, where I grow vegetables, herbs, and fruits that inspire many of the meals I prepare. There is something deeply fulfilling about planting, harvesting, and cooking from scratch—it has guided how I teach clients to reconnect with nourishing, real foods in a practical and joyful way.
Outside the kitchen, I’m happiest when I’m moving. I work out daily and love to play tennis, golf, ski, hike, bike, kayak, and paddleboard. Being outdoors is energizing and grounding for me, and it plays a huge role in the way I think about wellness: whole-person, lifestyle-centered, and sustainable.
All of these experiences—personal, professional, and lived—shape the way I practice nutrition today. I understand the frustration of not feeling well, the relief of finally having answers, and the power of nutrition and lifestyle to transform daily life. It’s my mission to help others find that same clarity, confidence, and long-term wellbeing.
