Nutrition Counseling or Medical Nutrition Therapy can be covered by major health insurance plans. I am an in-network provider for Allways Health Partners, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tufts, Harvard Pilgrim, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare and Medicare. 

Contact your health insurance plan and ask the following questions:

• Does my plan cover Medical Nutrition Therapy/Nutrition Counseling by a Registered Dietitian?

If yes, how many sessions are allowed?

• Is a Primary Care Physician, (PCP) referral required?

If so, have your PCP office call your insurance company to submit the referral and obtain an authorization number. You will need to provide my NPI number 1477116267 to your doctor’s office to process the referral.

• Is the Nutrition coverage limited to specific diagnoses?

• Do I have a deductible to meet first? Do I have a co-pay?

• If so, how much is it?
